BRIDGEFOOT ABC PRESENTATION DAY
13th Sept 09 All boxers who represented the club through the 08/09 season were presented with a trophy, for their hard work and commitment.
The best boxer of the season award went to Danny Craven for another outstanding season, who was also selected to box in Poland, or England. He was also given the award for the commitment he shows to the club, helping other young boxers to aim to higher standards.
The SchoolBoy boxer of the season award was given to Declan West, he has also had a very good season twice beating an England boxer.
The Junior boxer of the season award went to Jordan West, another talented boxer who has beaten some very high standard opponents. Jordan has a lot of ability and could go a long way.
The Senior boxer of the season award went to Nathan Wheatley, he is another Bridgefoot boxer who is very talented and is looking promising for the next season.
Most improved beginner boxer award, this is a new award this season and can be a carded or uncarded boxer. It was given to Craig Watson for all his hard work during the season.
Bridgefoot President Ron Warburton was awarded with a shield, all of the coaches were awarded with a small trophy for all of the hard work and commitment they have shown the club during the season. We are so lucky to have so many people who volunteer to help train the children at the gym, so thanks to you all!
We gave out 3 awards for newly carded boxers who will be boxing next season to Danielle McKay, Chris Eden and Ryan Threlfall.
Boxers presented with trophies are as follows:
Schoolboy: Declan Powell and Billy Potter.
Junior: Joe Telford, James Smith, Aaron Tariq, Declan West, Danny Craven and Jordan West.
Seniors: Rhys Yates, Nathan Wheatley, Frankie Collins, Tom Davies, Joanne Dutton, Danny Hodge, Sean Richardson and Michael McKay.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming the very talented Paul Larkin to the squad, he joins us from Runcorn ABC.
We also had a special award given to Philip Farrington who had to retire this season as he turned 34. He was one of the first boxers affiliated to the gym.
Our last 2 awards went to Derek and Amandas sons, Harvey Groarke who is well known on the boxing circuit and Parnell who was 7 years old on the presentation day.
